Woodland Garden

"I have been much afflicted again lately by visitors . . . and they gave me to understand that if they had had the arranging of the garden it would have been finished long ago - whereas I don't believe a garden is ever finished. They have all gone now, thank heaven."
— Elizabeth von Arnim

The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens, located in Wyoming's largest municipal park, Lions Park, is Wyoming's only public botanic garden. It began in 1977 as the Cheyenne Community Solar Greenhouse. It was one of the nation's first large-scale, solar-heated greenhouses, built by volunteers. The project pioneered a garden that provided therapy and meaningful activity to seniors, youth at risk and handicapped volunteers, a tradition that continues today.
