Community Garden North

Gardens, scholars say, are the first sign of commitment
to a community. When people plant corn they are saying,
let's stay here. And by their connection to the land,
they are connected to one another.
-  Anne Raver

The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens, located in Wyoming's largest municipal park, Lions Park, is Wyoming's only public botanic garden. It began in 1977 as the Cheyenne Community Solar Greenhouse. It was one of the nation's first large-scale, solar-heated greenhouses, built by volunteers. The project pioneered a garden that provided therapy and meaningful activity to seniors, youth at risk and handicapped volunteers, a tradition that continues today.

  North Community Garden

The north community garden of the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens opened in 2006. It was funded by a Community Development Block Grant. This garden includes a sidewalk to the area, accessible planting beds and a tool shed.
